Providing Navajo families with wood, insulation, stove, and essentials
Unfortunately this is not an uncommon sight in the homes of Navajo families across the reservation. Elders who have kept their wood stoves for many decades are beginning to fall apart from over usage, drywalls and insulation entirely missing because of leaks in the roof. Little to no firewood periodically throughout the winter months makes a hard season to bear for those who find themselves in this situation, especially if they are lacking in all of the above.
For the next few months we will be working specifically on this outreach which we have called The W.I.S.E outreach. Which stands for wood, insulation, stove, and essentials.
Good quality wood stoves are on average 1200-1800 dollars, depending on size. Cord of wood is on average 150 which lasts roughly a month. Insulation repair, depending on the extent of need, is about a few hundred dollars per project. Essentials—like water, toilet paper, flashlight, dry goods,…etc.—are about 300. So on average each family we will be helping would run about 2,000 or so.
If you wish to contribute to this outreach, there are two ways you can do so. First is to purchase an art print which funding goes towards this outreach. Secondly you can donate directly through the link below. Thank you very much and may Creator bless you!
